Michi and Rainer have put together our amazing CMWC City Map and we are so grateful for their effort! But there’s more, they are also hosting the Sightseeing Bike Tour on Wednesday, July 31. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet them in person!
Here is Rainer’s and Michi’s invitation to their tour:
While exploring a completely unknown city on your own can be intriguing, we think some of the best experiences can be had when you follow a local around. That way you avoid the tourist traps and you get to enjoy some weird, wonderful and unique sides of the city no tourist guide will tell you about. This is especially true when you’re a cyclist or a messenger. A local cyclist can show you the fastest and nicest ways around town and of course how to avoid annoying traffic.
Our original idea was to give the messenger family a small tour through Zurich to show you some of the places we enjoy most and ride the most iconic roads that we used to ride as messengers. When we then started making our list of places we quickly realized there were way too many. This is why we put all of those places onto a printed map (all participants will get one as part of the starter kit). But we still wanted to do a proper tour and bring you along on a ride through Zurich.
During this two hour ride we will tell you a little bit about how Zurich is organized in districts – but don’t worry, no boring history lesson there, just some quick facts. Then, we will ride a big loop through town, visiting some of the cultural spots, best food places, swimming spots, and iconic cyclist’s landmarks. We end the ride at Brupbacherplatz where the Cyclophile Group Ride will also arrive around the same time – just in time for some beers and ice cream.
It would be nice to see you on our sightseeing ride. If not, we hope you can at least make good use of our map and you get to enjoy our city.
